Thanksgiving is becoming one of my most favorite holidays! A day to enjoy being with family, great food, beautiful weather, and no presents involved!

We had a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner at Jared's parents house with Grandma Cooley and Nelson & Marci's family. The grandkids put on their Indian feathers and Pilgrim hats and went out to shoot the turkey before our big meal!
Even Abu took a shot at the turkey! She sure made the dinner special with all the decorations and yummy food. I especially love her homemade rolls!

The entire day was very relaxing...well, more like the afternoon, after I cooked the pie and prepared the sweet potatos, green beans, and carrot casserole. Jared had a fun time playing in the turkey bowl with some guys from the ward. We watched the Macy's Day Parade while I prepared the food, wishing we were out there in New York like we had planned to be earlier this year. Instead we enjoying watching it on TV while snuggling this little guy who was supposed to be born Thanksgiving day but decided to come 2 weeks early! Maybe next year!
The weather turned pretty cold late afternoon so we decided not to head out to the desert where all of Jared's extended family meet for their big potluck Thanksgiving. Instead the girls enjoyed playing with Jared, Uncle Nelson, Papa and their cousins outside while the rest of us ladies held babies, looked through Black Friday ads and talked! That night we turned on the Christmas tree lights and made some hot chocolate while we snuggled on the couch and watched a movie.
Cassidy enjoyed making some fun things to celebrate the holiday!
I have so much to be thankful for this year, my top ten list:
1. My amazing husband who puts up with a crazy woman each and every day and still comes home with a smile on his face!
2. A very spunky 4 year old who keeps me on my toes, reminds me too much of myself, but wouldn't trade her for the world!
3. An incredibly smart 2 1/2 year old who is the best helper any Mom could ever ask for.
4. A beautiful and healthy newborn baby boy! Who knew having a boy could be so much fun!
5. My amazing family and incredible in-laws who spoil us rotten.
6. A job that my husband enjoys and allows me to stay home with the kids each day.
7. A job that lets me come back and get my fill of dirty teeth anytime I want.
8. The gym that lets me do what I love, while getting paid for it, and leaves me high on endorphins!
9. My health, a home and great friends...ok that was 3 more.... but most importantly..
10. I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ who atoned for my sins and allows me all these blessings to enjoy on earth and has given us the opportunity to be with our families forever and return and live with him again.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Sounds like you had a fun Thanksgiving! We missed you! I can't wait to meet Merrick! How come your kids get all the hair? Merrick has more hair than Braden does and he is 8 months!
What a great post Heidi!!
Love catching up with your family.
