Christmas Eve

Originally we had planned to be in St. George over Christmas Eve through the holidays but plans changed last minute.  We decided to have Christmas at our house and drive up to St. George the day after.  We enjoyed spending Christmas Eve with the Jareds parents and Lance/Mishaun.  Their tradition is helping light the luminaries down the street and eating Tamales & Churros.  We were able to help out in a Secret Santa project with some of Jareds family again.  The family in need came from Brad and Alicia's old ward.  We helped deliver the baskets full of presents and goods earlier in the week. It was fun to sit across the street late one night in our cars and watch the expressions of the kids as they found their surprise on the doorstep.  I hope we will have an opportunity to do some kind of service like this every year.  Christmas Eve the kids fell asleep on the drive home by 8:30pm.  No cookies left out for Santa this year.  His elves had plenty of time to put a dollhouse together and watch a Christmas movie and still be in bed by 11:00 pm!
