Catchin up!

This past Friday night we met Dad after work in Downtown Mesa and had a fun time walking along the streets for their Nightmare on Main Street Celebration. The kids got to dress up and go trick-or-treating to each of the stores on Main Street. We didn't really dress up, but Cassidy sure enjoyed the chocolate anyway! They had karaoke, scary movies playing, Halloween tales and more. It was a lot of fun to see the fun little shops downtown! We even got a picture with Belle at Mrs. Potts Tea Party House!

Jared turned 28 on Sept 24th! We celebrated his birthday with family and he made a special request to have one of his favorite desserts, strawberry pie. Cassidy & McKenzie gave Dad some remote control cars for his birthday because Cassidy has so much fun chasing them around. He also scored some Carrie Underwood tickets to her concert in November!!! (Ok so maybe I might enjoy them more than Jared but I'm really glad he had a birthday to justify the purchase!) It was a fun day and we love our Dad!
In September for the Phelps Family Party we had a Missionary Night. Everyone who had served a mission set up a little booth with information, pictures, memorobilia, and yummy food to share from the country or state they served in. Jared unfortunatley had school that night so we couldn't share his fun memories from down south in Alabama.
Jared's Dad served in Mexico and had some really neat souveniers and some yummy soda pop!Aunt Mishaun holding McKenzieAll the little girls enjoying the yummy food!My brother-in-law Lance even came dressed in Chilean attire, spurs and all! We enjoyed the yummy chili dogs he brought! It was such a fun night to see where everyone served and to hear each one tell a special story about their mission! We love these monthly parties with the Phelps. We are looking forward to the Halloween Carnival next week at Aunt Nanette's!

How stinkin fun! I am so jealous, it is so hard not having ANY family close by. We've missed you guys and hopefully we can get together soon!

That is such a great idea. I wish we had a big enough family to copy the missionary exhibit. What would Jared have brought for food had he been there? I would be interested in trying some Gourmet Alabama style food! Thanks again for last weekend, we had a fabulous time.
